Career Advice for People With Criminal Backgrounds

Greetings Job Seekers, Often time I receive questions about companies hiring people with felons. What to apply for? How to apply? Who is hiring? and so on.  Here are a few tips to help you in your job search. Tips #1 Do be persistent, but not rude. If you have a felony conviction it is not acceptable to boldly ask a recruiter if they hire felons via cold call nor face-to-face. Instead apply for the positions using the assigned method, avoid using a chronological resume instead submit a functional resume that highlights your skills that apply to that position, prepare to win the job with a dynamic interview presentation.
